Jessie’s Ghost Album Showreel

Confirmed for the Festival Too lineup

We are pleased to announce we have been given the honour of opening the night on the 7th July for Kings Lynns Festival Too. Hopefully see you all there!

First review of ‘The Dancer’

With their undeniably charming brand of towering harmonies and hook filled acoustic numbers, it did not take long for Norfolk quintet Jessie’s Ghost to establish themselves as one of the regions most captivating live acts. It comes as little surprise therefore that the bands debut release ‘The Dancer’ delivers gem after gem of delightfully tuneful and utterly memorable tracks.

Naturally, it is with the vocal performances where ‘The Dancer’ truly excels. Songs such as the title track and the fantastic ‘She Don’t Know It’ not only contain elegantly soaring choruses and some poignantly honest lyrics from front man Callum Waterfield, but a consistent sheen of magnificent harmonies from his cohorts mean the album is unswerving melodic.

Indeed, the instrumental delivery, whilst for the most part subtle and unassuming, also proves to carry some melodic weight. The superbly delicate guitar lines in ‘Set Me Free’ and the danceable opening retains of ‘This Is My Life’ are primary examples of how Jessie’s Ghost have managed to keep the album wholly engaging across the board, yet always retaining a laudable focus on the overall listenable quality of the tracks.

Ultimately, ‘The Dancer’ is an enchanting piece of work. By turns melancholic, joyous, upbeat and introspective, we are simply left with a collection of expertly put together tunes. On this evidence, we will be seeing a lot more Jessie’s Ghost in the not so distant future.
